Thousands of women artisans in India are facing an unseen crisis. Their hands, once
weaving heritage and culture, are now trembling with pain—crippled by arthritis,
vision loss, chronic illnesses, and extreme poverty. Many of these artisans have
lost their husbands or family members—their only source of support.
With no income, no pension, and no savings, they are struggling for survival—sleeping
hungry, suffering without medicine, and living in isolation. If we don’t act now,
they will be forced into poverty, debt, or have to quit their craft forever.
This initiative by Pratima Foundation is a lifeline for these women, ensuring they
receive the urgent medical aid, financial support, and sustainable livelihood opportunities
they deserve.
